Leanne Helin
Leanne Helin is of the Northwest Coastal
Native Tribe from Lax-Kw-Alaams, B.C. and daughter of Carole and Art
Helin, Hy,emass of the Gitgeese tribe(Art R.I.P 2001) now residing in Parksville, B.C.
on Vancouver Island. Leanne has attended the renowned Gemology Institute
of America,
learning her craft and apprenticing with her brother Bill Helin in
Tsimshian designs. Now experienced and working on her own, she has taken
northwest native jewellery designing to the next phase and flare,
creating elegant flow and artistry. The designs and crests of her
Tsimshian Heritage flow through her work. The legends of her ancestry
guide her creativity retained in the strict form lines on every piece of
hand carved jewellery. She works in both silver and gold and is one of
the foremost native women jewellery carvers on the westcoast.
